I have not been receiving care services from this terrible company for quite a time now. I had so very many different carers ''in and out' of my home, Some excellent and some abysmal. I should have known with so many different carers came the chance that I would become a victim of theft and I did so, on two occasions, by different workers. The first, although still theft was little and money, the coordinator was talking of 'safeguarding policies' and such. I did not want the police involved for such a small amount, it would put me at risk. The next time it was something of great sentimental value and I had had enough and had a back-up company offering the services I needed. This time when I spoke to the coordinator, not sure who that was, very bad admin skills, she was obviously not trained in customer relation skills and asked 'Are you accusing one of my staff of stealing?' in a disgusted voice and since one already had stole from me, yes I was. I replied 'Well it is nowhere in the house and if she had hoovered it up, she would have heard it'. The way that last coordinators attitude was not just dismissive, it was downright rude. I know they were losing staff and I am not surprised, this worker was the main one for the area and covered whenever asked. She told me herself she needed the money.So no way would DH want to terminate her employment. I had heard horror stories off some other workers of the way they were treated by the company, they had left, and I did wonder how they were really treated but if she could speak. to a customer, like that I dread to think of the way she spoke to the staff. If you do not get a thief or a lazy one, you may be lucky and get a good carer but that is because they really care and have those natural skills and that is independent of a company that cares little! I give the go ahead for the termination of Direct Health and I am more than happy with my now care providers, no thefts, although I lock away things of sentimental value, after the thefts from Direct Health workers. I am classed as a vulnerable person now, but I was once a coordinator.manager and I never spoke to anyone the way I was spoken to that day. I worked with a team of respected workers, in a different field. I never saw the last thief again for I switched that day, the first had disappeared and I took if that some others had also been her victim. I worry for others who may not notice for many reasons that items/money may be going missing. So if you or someone you love have care services, please lock away your valuables and keep money safe. To begin with I had a few carers that can’t cook. Being on a special diet where I can’t eat fibre and having to eat fresh food every day , (I’m not allowed processed food ),then after teething problems I ended up with two excellent carers Carla and Steve but they were sent a few nights a week then I wouldn’t see them for ages. Now direct health has said they all refuse to come to me . I really can’t see that to be true because I got on so well with all of them . Steve was here last night and said he’d see me tomorrow so I can’t see why he’d then go to the office and refuse to come to my home. I think it stems from me beginning a law suit against them for breach of confidentiality, I can’t put those details on here but once it’s been to court I will do . Dh care providers are rubbish. Bad time keeping,different carers all the time and the good carers kept away. It’s a shame really because the good carers suffer for their employers down fall. I have given just 1 star for the company but if I was rating my two best carers Carla and Steve I’d put five stars . Both excellent cooks and people who treat the patient as a person not a fool. Also a good carer was Megan again very polite and a good cook .Last night a carer That has been before said she can’t believe it to be true because she hasn’t heard of any complaints against me .

Zero stars if I were allowed to give it for this disgraceful company,aside from a few descent and dedicated field staff this company is the most badly managed I have ever had the misfortune to deal with,we had to use this company to care for my late father with home care ,me and my family had years of stress with very poor staff scheduling,extremely poor management and dreadful communication from extremely obnoxious care coordinators ,in a nutshell there are a few good field staff that somehow continue to work for this dreadfully run company but aside from that the rest of the local management structure needs a complete rehash ,I dont say this lightly when I state that they are a complete embarrassment to the care industry,if you or your loved ones are in need of vital home care please please avoid this company at all costs.
