Joined the surgery with my family in January. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. 6 weeks for an appointment! A GP who talks over me when I’m answering questions a she’s asked me. Diagnosed incorrectly, not surprisingly.
On a positive note, the nurse I saw is an asset to the surgery. Friendly, funny (in a great way) kind and empathic. She quickly found common ground with me and made me feel at ease within a couple of minutes

That is second bad review I have to do ! Last time I have been given wrong dose of medication around middle of November - feels bad! Shaking , 🫨 high blood pressure and pulse , anxiety and problems with breathing .
“Doctor “ told me to start taking antidepressants as I have panic attacks .
I have to go to my birth place to check what’s going on!
Inform me that I need to translate all medical records what I did but somehow never been checked, attached to my records .
“doctor “has been asking me to do sample to check HP bacteria on lansoprazole ( never mentioned to stop taking for 2-3 weeks before ) is not showing anything when treated on this med. !!!!
second time I have been at work - hot flashes, pale, high heart rate, shaking 🫨 anxiety 😥
My work place call 999 was that bad !!!! Paramedic advised me to go to emerge in case that would be happen again. I called my gp to ask if they advise me to stay on that dose and they call me back saying to continue.
I have to go with my child to Eastbourne emergency department with my friend as I Couldn’t drive - they did blood test, heart tests. Showed that I don’t need high doses of this medication and they didn’t understand why they did ! And all that symptoms are clearly side effects of overdose levothyroxine . My face is covered by sore ,red spots!!!!
When I spoke with the lady over the phone at the reception she was telling me that I’m wrong …. and “ doctor „prescribed right dose ! When I told her that patients are having right to receive professional care by educated and trained staff - lady told me that”doctors”are really professional and educated then when I told her that was second time when someone from this surgery prescribed me wrong dose and i don’t feel trustworthy anymore!
She told me that she is having another’s personal on the line and our conversation is not going anywhere and I can come in to the surgery behind reception is complain policy and she hang up! Really professional stuff. Bravo 👏

Met my new Doctor who was kind, had time and respect for me; she explained things and was very thorough. In all I was very impressed. She put me at ease and was reassuring. Personally I feel it is rare these days to find a Doctor with such patience and understanding; she is a great asset to the practice. Ty.

My husband had an appointment with the wonderful Dr. Javaid today which I attended with him. What a 'breath of fresh air ' to be greeted by a very caring and kind individual. Her attention to detail and cheerful attitude was much appreciated.
We came away feeling we were in good hands. We are extremely happy to have her as our permanent GP. I just sincerely hope the work load and general stress levels of the "job " do not affect her .

I met my new doctor recently Dr Mahesh Javaid ,I was met with a warm smile and a handshake
, our consultation was unhurried, I was given the time to discuss in full and I felt completely heard and understood. Everything was explained fully and follow up appointments made and I left feeling delighted and reassured I had a new doctor who really listens and genuinely cares about their patients.

First time meeting this doctor, greeted me with a handshake and introduction. Following an full health assessment and talking through my health issues. She arranged immediately urgent tests then and there. Completed prescription and other paperwork straight away. This was the first time I felt someone was listening and hearing my voice of my health concerns. I need to thank her from the bottom of my heart for her kindness, empathy and understanding of my underlying health conditions.

Saw Dr Javaid for the first time today. Quick appointment face to face and was impressed with how she conducted the surgery visit. Instead of typing notes and not looking at the patient the Dr sat opposite and looked at me and listened to what I was saying. Gave me an online prescription which I could pick up the medication straight away from the pharmacy.
I really hope that she stays at downlands as we need her.
