Though I had an unproblematic pregnancy, my labour was not a piece of cake. I had to be induced and eventually was sent to the operating theatre. I would like to thank all the midwives and doctors in the midwifery unit and hospital ward for making my labour as painless and peaceful as possible! They were so friendly and professional during all those long hours; I couldn't have dreamed of a better team by my side. I kept smiling throughout the whole process. I would also like to thank the cooks who provided us with absolutely delicious food (such a varied menu!) in the postnatal ward. If I decide to have another baby, I know where to go!

I’m so pleased I have chose to give a birth in LGI - the location is very convenient, the food is sooooooo delicious ( I know it’s sounds crazy while you are in hospital, but believe it or not the food was scrumptious and was served warm every time- this is all you need after giving a birth to help you with the recovery…. thanks to all people involved in the preparation of this amazing food 😋😃😋). I gave a birth twice and was very pleased with my midwife’s in the delivery department- the first time the name of the lady was Hanah - very kind and professional young lady( on that time 2022 she was 25 years old) - she encouraged me all the way through and was keeping my hand too !!! The second time I was so exhausted and I didn’t even remember the name of my midwife- it was a slim lady with glasses and a big smile ( she said she has 13 years experience in a company of a student ( this lady said she was redundant from finance job and then she chose to be a midwife) - both were brilliant team and when they entered the room with a big smiles and full of energy I felt sooo much relief….A big thank you to all the staff there !!!

THANK YOU CHRISTIE USHER. WE LOVE YOU!!!!
I was waiting since January to write this review as I didn't want my hormones to have control over what I had to say.
I wasn't enjoying my first pregnancy as much as I wanted. st James patients were in LGI due to work going on at StJ at the time so it was over crowded.
I was on the ward for a week, it was over heated, women were going into labour on the ward because the delivery ward was also too busy and the Midwives were understaffed.
The Midwives were very good considering the difficult position they were forced in. When my baby was born he developed severe heat rashes due to the heating on the ward. I heard other women mention it too. I have pictures/evidence if I'm contacted to discuss my experience.

Once my baby had been born I only felt the Midwives trying to push me out the door. I felt vulnerable and no care or advice provided other than offering paracetamol and trying to get me to go home. I was nervous to go home until they had helped me master the latching for Breastfeeding. I didn't want to use formula .
I'm crying now trying to type about this. It really effected me.
I wanted my first pregnancy to be amazing and lovely but my experience at LGI was not so. When I got home ,the first visit showed up and asked how my first night at home was......I had just got home. She had been informed I returned the day before. Now I know why they were pushing me out of the ward. Because they had already accidentally signed me off the ward.
Christie Usher really made a positive impact on my experience when she delivered our baby. This 1 gold star is for Christie because she is a shining star . She was so patient and caring and understanding. She was with me for ages comforting me and talking me through every step. I can't thank her enough. She was on her own delivering our child and did the best job ever. She helped our baby latch on straight away . She helped me shower and get clean clothes on. Toast and juice. And took me straight to the new ward with our child. All on her own. Christie is the best thing in all of this.
No staff should be put under this sort of pressure. NHS need to recruit more Midwives. Beds were available on delivery ward but there wasn't enough staff.
I called up MAC for help 2 weeks after birth for advice ,they turned me away and told me to go to A&E with my new born. I felt so alone and completely abandoned after I left hospital. Everyone I called was palming me and my new born off onto someone else. No one wanted to help or take responsibility for providing advice we needed with his health. I wish I could wind back time and refuse to leave until I got the help I needed.

My elderly wife broke her ankle and shin bone and after 7 hours in A&E following days asked to attend orthopaedics where in two hours she was x-rayed twice, an in depth consultation with a lady trauma surgeon, then had her leg put in plaster and on our way home. Every member of staff was cheerful helpful and to be fair so we’re all the staff inA&E working under such trying conditions. Thankyou one and all.

*Its mainly for you Tina Beardmore*
Its my first pregnancy I am almost 7 months pregnant and so far I only came here for the scan. Staffs are lovely here but today's scan was very different. Her name is Tina Beardmore, she did my scan so nicely it didn't hurt during the scan for the first time. She was pressing lightly yet she could measure the baby well and the blood flow heartbeat etc. It always hurts during the scan and afterwards as well as they press so hard but I thought that's how it needs to be done but I had a nice experience with Tina today,no pain during the scan or afterwards. I am writing a review while on my way home. I am very pleased with her work.

#Update : I am over 30 weeks now and I was surprised it was Tina again. Another lovely experience💖

The most stressful experience in my life. Mother had an appointment in Clarendon wing however the place we needed to be in was not sign posted on anything around the hospital. We asked multiple nurses, receptionists and staff where we needed to be 30 minutes before the appointment time not one of them knew where the place was. Absolutely horrendous experience. Ended up been ten minutes late to the appointment after a lovely receptionist helped us out an managed to call the main switchboard people.

All staff (doctors, nurses, cleaning, porters, catering etc) have been absolutely amazing from moment we got there they have cared about my stepson and his outcome.
14 hours in theater
Days recovery in HDU and then on to other wards for his recovery.
We honestly can not express how amazing all the staff have been. They never stop and although NHS budget just isn't enough everyone here works non stop for the care and wellbeing of the patients
Hopefully you wont need to visit here but if you have too you will be well looked after easy a 5 star hospital ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
