Everyone in this surgery is great. They are committed to providing continuity of care with your registered GP whilst ensuring high priority patients are seen in a timely manner. The reception staff are knowledgeable and seem to prioritise appointments & signposting effectively.

My husband, came into the surgery at 8.25am to get me an appointment for that day due to being in severe pain I was in due to arthritis in my hips. He was asked to fill out a form with my details for triage. He was then told that a doctor would call me that morning. I also phoned the surgery to make sure this was the case & was told I would be contacted by 12:00 or before. I phoned as I have had previous experiences of the doctors not phoning me, which can be very stressful.
Unfortunately no phone call was received by 12.00 midday & I continued to wait, still in pain, until 3:15pm when I phoned again to find out what was happening & why I had not received a call, I was then told I was not on the list for that day (13th May) but Wednesday 15th May. Nobody had contacted me to tell me this, even though I was told someone should have done so.
I also asked one of your colleagues, as I was in pain why I wasn’t I going to be contacted for two days when I was in so much pain. I was told that there was only two doctors in on that day, but no other explanation. I asked for a link for me to complain about this & the person said she would text me one, I never received it & once again I had to email the surgery to receive this information.
Communication is so important when you are poorly or in pain as this adds to the stress & to remember there is an actual human being waiting for that call that never happens.

It is true getting an appt is a nightmare especially after a bank holiday. I had been putting off going to the GP for months so when an option to use the webbased call back system for a routine appt call a few days later it didn't matter. Dr Ross duly rang me a couple of days later in the evening and my experience was excellent. Whenever I've had Dr Ross see me or call me she has always listened, been empathetic and tried to offer good advice. My experience of her and generally the practice is positive albeit I recognise how overstretched and challenging it must be for them. So whilst I'm not convinced I will always get the outcome I am looking for I cannot fault the compassion and care provided by Dr Ross and the surgery in general

Trying to get an appointment is a joke, even if you constantly redial at 8.30am by the time you get through there are rarely appointments. You also can't book an appointment for another day/time . It's all very well being told to ring at 8.30am but that is a farce! I work full time and pay full NIC contributions that supplements the NHS, and can't sit on the phone redialling over 100 times whilst actually AT WORK to then be told there are no appointments or phone slots. This system clearly doesn't work and needs addressing, and it certainly doesn't help the majority of working people. I have been with this surgery for years and it used to be amazing, but it's definitely time to look for another surgery.

Terrible doctor surgery they are, been ill for nearly 6 weeks now finally got my appointment for blood tests today at 8.10am to be told I don't need any blood tests which is a joke, all they did was take my weight and blood pressure but my illness has nothing to do with that, just rubbish they are and the nurse was well rude!!!

Joined DQS around 3 years ago when I moved over from Torquay and don’t find the quality of service that great, 2-3 months for an appointment and that’s by phone and then sometimes you don’t receive the phone call, will be looking to move to another surgery.

I’ve only just joined the practice but after a visit to the doctor and a blood test with a nurse I am really impressed. All the staff I’ve met are friendly, compassionate and take the time to listen and explain next steps. The nurse explained everything they were testing for which was really helpful and they are the most punctual practice I’ve ever known! So glad I joined. Thank you.

My dog has better *access* to healthcare. The surgery hasn't got the resources to serve the community effectively. The team are polite professional though if you are one if the lucky (it's a lottery) ones to get an appt when you need one. This just one of many examples of how the Tory's have wrecked primary healthcare.
