I was here as a suicidal patient after attempts on my own life in I think it was Spring 2022.

My assigned Doctor/psychiatrist let me know that I was a burden for "costing the NHS over £600 a night" for taking up a bed here. It made me so suicidal I accepted a suicide pact request from a patient (which i was blamed for by the staff who caught me attempting it without the other person.) I also experienced racial hatred and abuse from two African nurses+serious medical neglect from another. It may be a physically nice hospital, but their hiring process needs alot of help. There's so much more I experienced, I tried writing a complaint but I heard nothing back at all.

Edit: If Dr Barber is a woman who had short dark hair in 2022 then that's the assigned Doctor/Psychiatrist I'm talking about.

The reviews are still awful even years after they tried to close it down. Wonder if Emma is still working there... She was one that made me feel worthless.

This is my personal experience, ss the immediate family member of an NHS in-patient at The Priory Hospital Attleborough Norwich UK. I have found the hospital management style and that of the resident psychiatrist Dr Barber to be completely in sync, each being equally and entirely uncommunicative.
After providing all information the hospital requested from me My attempts to be advised as to the patients mental health, have been referred to a complaints procedure, which provides up to 4 weeks for a response during which time, present circumstances will subsist and I must rely upon telephone conversations with the distressed patient for updates.
With regards to provision of cognitive or talking therapy, I’m advised by the patient that such treatment amounts to one 15 minute video call once a week. I’m not a medical professional but being familiar with the patients levels of anxiety over prolonged periods i find it unlikely that a 15 minute video interview once a week will provide little if anything to assist the patients well being or recovery.
It may be that Dr Barber is able to make extraordinary assessments of patients in her care in a 15 minute video link. Also, it may be that things are better than as has been described to me and as are here described but despite persistent attempts to contact the patient’s doctor and the Manager of the hospital, no one has provided a meaningful response or sought to allay my concerns as expressed.
I am 1000 miles distant from the patient’s NHS placing with The Priory and where the patient has been for the last two months, I’ve been unable to establish any point of contact through which to reliably ascertain news of diagnosis, progress or prospects for the patient, who remains in the care of The Priory mental health team, at the time of writing this review, 23/05/2022
