Following many years of struggling with contact lenses and glasses, my eyesight was slowly worsening. I was wearing a mixture of contact lenses and glasses, and every day had to be aware of how to manage changing lenses and making sure I had the right glasses etc.

I had got to the point where I was worried how I would manage if I ended up in a situation without access to my glasses or contact lenses.

The team were very helpful, approachable and knowledgeable, and I had informative discussions with the surgeon Mr Ratnarajan before the surgery. I discovered that there are different options to choose from depending on your lifestyle. Mr Ratnarajan was very professional and kind, and helped me decide which option would be best for me. My eyes were complicated and I required multifocal intraocular lenses.

I felt at ease and safe at all times. The operation was not painful and I could see better within 24 hours!

Having lens replacement surgery at the Innovation Eye Clinic is one of the best things I’ve done in my life. I feel so happy now I can see without assistance, and don’t have to worry with contact lenses or glasses.

I found the whole experience first class. I had cataracts removed from both eyes and the resulting improvement in vision has far exceeded my expectations. At every point, from reception through to aftercare, my treatment at the clinic was most friendly, helpful and informative. Prior to the procedure, nursing care was pleasant and thorough,as it also was during the recovery period. The procedure itself was remarkably quick, virtually painless and carried out with a professionalism that inspired the greatest confidence. At the same time I felt informed and included throughout the whole process by Mr Ratnarajan. His manner as well as his evident expertise put me at ease in what could have been trying circumstances. The two subsequent review appointments were just as satisfactory, prompt and informative. I am very pleased indeed that I was referred to Innovation!

Being in my early 70’s the thought of cataract surgery wasn’t something I relished.

My sight had deteriorated quickly and my new prescription glasses were ineffective within 6 months. I had been recommended to Mr Gok Ratnarajan. The facility is well run and everyone is very friendly. At my initial appointment various checks, measurements and images were taken followed by my consultant. Mr Ratnarajan did not think that my eyes were suitable for varifocal lens, so I followed his recommendation. He explained exactly what would happen. He answered my questions and said if I had any further questions to contact his secretary.

One the day of my surgery, I spend an hour or so in a comfortable room . The nurse administered an anaesthetic drop and a small pellet to dilate my eye. Gok came and saw me before the operation and then the anaesthetist administered the anaesthetics for the operation. She stayed by my side for most of the first procedure, which was comforting. Mr Ratnarajan reassured me throughout the procedure and explained what was happening at each step. I felt relatively relaxed.

After my first operation, my eye was uncomfortable for a couple of hours (it improved after I put in the first drops), so I took some paracetamol before my second operation and I felt it was much better. My eyes settled down quickly, I followed the rules and kept up with my eye drops.

I am thrilled with the results. At my follow up appointment Mr Ratnarajan said how well the procedures had gone. I left feeling very reassured.

I would thoroughly recommend Mr Ratnarajan and the staff at Innovation Eye Clinic.

I was apprehensive about having cataract surgery but Mr Ratnarajan explained the options very clearly and I came away from the first consultation feeling confident that I would be in good hands. The two procedures were carried out within a short time. There was no pain and very little discomfort. I am absolutely delighted with the results. Very clean. Staff very welcoming and helpful, gentle relaxing atmosphere, everything seemed to run very smoothly. I was anxious about the cataract operation beforehand, but all went smoothly on the day and put aside my pre op concerns. I would definitely recommend this eye clinic to anyone considering a similar cataract removal operation, and especially my surgeon Mr Ratnarajan who looked after me so well and by way of reassurance kept me informed of progress during a very successful operation. Very pleased with the outcome of cataract removal surgery performed by Mr Ratnarajan for my 88 year old mother. Whole process (to remove cataracts in both eyes) from start to finish was swift and smooth. Admin staff were extremely helpful and efficient and supported us throughout. Mr Ratnarajan explained the surgery, its benefits and risks, very clearly to my mother, and she was treated with dignity and respect by all in Mr Ratnarajan's team. After care was thorough, and my mother has recovered very well, especially considering her age.
