The worse of the worse, on many levels.
Beginning of Dec I fell ill with an infection I visited 3 times over a period of 3 weeks on a guessing game of choose the right antibiotics. By this time my infection had spread, I was in bed from the chills constant thru Xmas and a small abscess had grown large to which they never looked at once.
I was told that I would get an emergency ENT appointment to which was dated August 25. They stopped giving me antibiotics Jan 8th as I’d had too many
Out of desperation I went to the walk in centre Northallerton waited to see the GP there in the hope the infection could be diagnosed BUT NO I got turned away with no meds and the excuse that they didn’t have any ENT equipment to look at the infection. Go back to your GP.
After another evening of burning up and a face abscess spreading I was taken to James Cook A&E who gave me an emergency ENT for 2 days later as they too was only a walk in centre .
I was now relying on antibiotic topical creams given to me by friends in the hope it would help.
I attended ENT yesterday after 6 weeks of suffering. They took action immediately and proceed with a minor ops in the abscess, swabbed for the right bacteria and gave me antibiotics . In the surgeons words she said ‘ Your GP has failed you’ What was a small treatable infection 6 weeks ago has now turned into an emergency and unnecessary suffering .

They call themselves a veteran friendly practice why ? There’s no priority or duty of care in the world here towards us.
Even charge £110 for MOD War pension forms.
I will be now looking at formal complaints towards this practice and GMC route against those that sit at a desk and not do any hands on work.

I have been with mayford house from 2012. .I cannot fault them though I don't go often. And like to see same doctor.which yes is a wait. But I tend to try over counter first.many waste appointment time for minor things ..which could be used for others..I know it's frustrating waiting on appointments ect. But everywhere is the same.i cannot fault the surgery and My GP I see. And I understand the pressure they are under to. People run to Dr for minor things that could be sorted by over counter
This takes away time for people who really need GP time.in an ideal world things be different but there not. I have had experiences In all areas of practice. And it been 👍. GP and nurses need be appreciated rather than moaned about. Just be thankful ur not in a country where u have to pay..
I have found reception staff helpful and have had no issues.
Rather than sit and moan and run down a place where they doing best then can with what they have. A thanku goes a long way..
Life isn't perfect but every GP surgeries are the same ...waiting times ect..

IAM house bound missed a call in relation to the flu. /COVID jab.two weeks later still waiting for the call.to clarify when they are doing house call. But in the meantime got a message to make an appointment at the surgery. Now IAM confused about if they are calling out or making me go to the surgery.i went deaf in my right ear messaged them to say I needed to talk to a doctor then U received a message saying they tried to call but I never answered the call Never bothered me again with a follow up call.so I suffered two weeks with a ear infection and now it sounds as if IAM not getting my first COVID jab/flu jab.. there is no care of duty What so ever here .just ignored seems like I dont exsist.

Not even open when they are supposed to be ( tuesday at 2pm ), didnt even order in prescriptions in that i ordered a week prior. Was rude and dismissive when i phoned about an illness and said it wasnt a big deal, it was and i needed a full check up when i went to the frirage. Completely useless

The surgery was great when we first moved here. Since that time significant wait times trying to call the surgery. Blood tests 2 months away and to be done at the Friarage.

Having had numerous trips to Mayford with my son, I can’t fault the surgery. Always manage to get an emergency same day appointment and have used the dispensary which is valuable when collecting medication after an appointment. As we live out the area but work in Northallerton and have had family there for years, you can still use the surgery which is great for the family.

Used to be an ok surgery, installed online booking for appointments which was ok but now done away with this for virtual assistant! Try ringing the surgery and you have time to make a cup of tea and drink it ! Worst surgery we have ever had unfortunately

Great doctors, nurse practitioners are outstanding.
Doing a good job with Covid-19 restrictions.
Yes sometimes you have a bit of a wait getting through on the phone but it’s a busy place.
Good parking.
Great chemist next door.
