I had a knee that had been injured years ago, and was causing me real problems by late 2023, and needed sorting out quite urgently come early 2024. MSK Doctors and Prof Paul Lee gave me exactly what I needed, the MRI scans done within a week of asking, the consultation with Prof Lee the next week, and a date in late March in the diary for surgery to replace the left knee. All timed to have the least impact on my Cambridge students.
Everything before and after surgery locally up here, and part of the package was the provision of a driver and car to take me to the London hospital where Prof Lee does the surgery, and the same driver to bring me home afterwards. This hugely reduced the stress and anxiety that I think everyone would feel with major surgery.
I have had a quicker recovery than usual, which in part is the care I have had, in part my fitness prior to the operation. The physio at the Sleaford clinic has been brilliant, her very clear explanations of what I needed to achieve enabling me to push through without overdoing it.
All in all, a totally positive experience, and already at 7 weeks able to walk normally again, and manage stairs. Still plenty to do, but a wonderful team.

I really thought my horse riding days were over, but following a consultation with Professor Lee who suggested a hip replacement using a dual mobility prosthetic I’m now ready to to start riding again. Thanks go to Professor Lee and his team for all the care before, during and after my surgery, nothing was too much trouble, I can highly recommend MSK Doctors to anyone experiencing joint issues.

Having a new hip from Professor Lee was the best thing that happened to me in 2021! It restored life to normality. Patient care from the first consultation to post-operative recovery has been second to none and clinic staff have regularly enquired about my progress. When I was finally put on the list for a hip replacement, I still faced a wait of at least six months and started to look at a couple of options. When an opportunity arose to see Professor Lee, I went for a consultation and his approach proved decisive. I had my first full explanation of the detail on my last X-ray and a demonstration with the type of prosthesis that would be used and how it would be fitted, with all my questions and concerns fully addressed. His passion for surgical excellence and continued improvement were obvious, as was his attention to my needs as a patient.
Ten days after the consultation, following a wonderfully arranged overnight stay in London, I could start to live again. Professor Lee's skill was evident in the complete removal of my previous pain, a short and neat scar with absolutely no bruising, all of which I found remarkable.
So, been there and got the (Bionic Joint Club) tee-shirt. My photo on the website was taken whilst out cycling once more and is part of my recommendation to anyone with a life on hold due to joint pain. All the team at MSK are superb and you would be in very safe hands.

This is a wonderful facility. I was blessed to be able to have all my post-op appointments and physio here, instead of having to drive to Lincoln (I live a 7 min walk away! ).
It's a pristine facility, clean and modern, with lovely staff. Nothing is too much trouble. I also really appreciate their efficiency - the consultant secretaries are brilliant, and able to respond quickly to all queries - which is such a reassurance when you are trying to arrange appointments at short notice etc...
Trafford on reception is also lovely, and makes a great coffee!
So, huge thanks to my consultant, Mr.Yewlett, who always has time for you; my physio Helen, who is fabulous; Nurse Nicki for caring so much and Sally and her colleagues who have put up with my numerous emails!!

I first met professor Lee 2 years ago early June..
I had always been a keen gym goer but now I was struggling to keep up with my normal active lifestyle due to pain & stiffness in both hips .
Following on from my x-ray I had it confirmed both hips had osteoarthritis with little cartilage.
Ten days later I had had a left total hip replacement, as this was the more damaged hip , Amazing-pain gone !
Just over two weeks ago I have now had my right hip replaced also by prof Lee.
I never imagined I would be rid of the constant daily pain I was in, keeping me awake most nights ..
You basically learn to live with it & don't realise the way you walk etc until someone comments "are you ok your limping etc "
Prof Lee is such a calm & relaxed man explaining all the procedure to me, answering all my numerous questions in detail.(I had many )
All the staff were exceptionally friendly & caring ,nothing was ever too much trouble.
I would highly recommend prof Lee & his team.
I am thankful everyday & I am now looking forward to the rest of my life keeping active with my new hips.

From the minute I stepped into Professor Lee’s office, I was put at ease with his caring and empathetic manner. Professor Lee explained my diagnosis in layman’s terms so I understood everything clearly. This provided me with the reassurance I needed to make my decision with regards to a hip replacement. I left Professor Lee’s office confident that I will be in good hands. Since my consultation, the staff have been exceptionally helpful answering all my queries and sorting out dates.

It’s always a worry and concern when you have health issues. Mine have been with my knees since I was 23 years old and snapped my anterior cruciate ligament.

Zoom forwards to 2019 and I caused some damage to my good knee. I wanted the best care I could have and I know how lucky I am to have healthcare provided by my work. I searched for a ‘local’ knee specialist and Prof Lee came up. I can’t tell you how glad I am to be under the care of Prof Lee. Prof Lee has managed my pain via injections and surgery since 2019 and continues today with specialist physio. I’m mid way through having both knees replaced, something that probably could have been averted if I found Prof Lee earlier on, and find myself in the greatest hands in knee tech. From KneeKG, gait analytics to surgery and aftercare you genuinely couldn’t ask for more. I fully recommend MSKDoctors, OnRecovery Prof Lee and Paul Lewis.
